കൊച്ചി അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവള്ളത്തിലെ റൺവേകളിൽ നൂതന ലൈറ്റിംഗ് സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി. കാറ്റഗറി -3 ലൈറ്റിംഗ് സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ 36 കോടി ചെലവിൽ ആണ് നടപ്പാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. സിയാൽ മാനേജിംഗ് ഡയറക്ടർ വി.ജെ. കുര്യൻ സ്വിച്ച് ഓൺ ചടങ്ങ് നിർവഹിച്ചു
കാറ്റഗറി -3 ലൈറ്റുകൾ ഏത് തരത്തിലുള്ള കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും വിമാനം ലാൻഡുചെയുവാൻ പൈലറ്റുമാരെ സഹായിക്കുന്നു. മഴ, പുക, മൂടൽ മഞ്ഞ് എന്നി പ്രതിസന്ധിഘട്ടങ്ങളിൽ പൈലറ്റിന് ഈ ലൈറ്റുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് സുരക്ഷിതമായി വിമാനം ലാൻഡുചെയിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും. ഏത് കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും പൈലറ്റുമാർക്ക് കാണുന്നതിന് ഈ നൂതന സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യ ഉപയോഗപ്രഥമാകും. ഈ സംവിധാനത്തിലൂടെ പാർക്കിംഗ് ബേ, ടാക്സി വേ, മറ്റ് ലിങ്ക് വഴികൾ എന്നിവ വ്യക്തമായി കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നു.
മുമ്പ് ബാംഗ്ലൂർ മാത്രമായിരിന്നു കാറ്റഗറി -3 ലൈറ്റുകൾ പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമായ ഏക വിമാനത്താവളം. അടുത്തിടെ കൊച്ചി വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ നടപ്പിലാകായിയ 124 കോടി രൂപയുടെ നവീകരണ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ലൈറ്റിംഗ് സംവിധാനം പരിഷ്കരിച്ചത്.
എയർപോർട്ട് ഡയറക്ടർ എ.സി.കെ നായർ, എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് ഡയറക്ടർ എം.എം.ഷബീർ, ജനറൽ മാനേജർ പി.ജെ. ടോബി, സീനിയർ മാനേജർ സ്കറിയ ജി. എന്നിവർ ചടങ്ങിൽ സംബന്ധിച്ചു.
Advanced lighting system implemented in CIAL
Cochin International Airport (CIAL) has started using the advanced lighting technology in the runways. The category-3 lighting technology was implemented at a cost of 36 crores. The switch on ceremony was done by the Managing Director V.J. Kurian.
The category-3 lights help the pilots to land the plane on bad weather conditions like; during heavy rain, smoke, fog etc. The improved lighting system in the airport gave better ground visibility to the pilot and helps him to land safely. The parking bay, taxi way and other link ways will be clear in any weather condition through this modern lighting system.
Earlier Bangalore was the only airport with the category-3 lighting facility. The lighting was done as part of the recent renovations done at the airport with an estimate of 124 crores.
